Retinal Disease Treatment in WNY

Orchard Park Glaucoma Specialist

Glaucoma is a disease that results from increased pressure inside the eye, which damages the optic nerve over time, leading to irreversible loss of vision if left untreated. Glaucoma is characterized by a slow onset and minimally noticeable symptoms, which means it’s important to seek a glaucoma specialist as soon as symptoms are discovered to develop a long-term care plan, and to discuss the options available for treatment.

Cataract Surgery in Buffalo, NY

Retina Treatments in Orchard Park

The retina is the thin layer of tissue that lines the back of the eye and converts refracted light into the signals needed to interpret vision. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) occurs when the central portion of the retina (the macula) begins to degrade, a natural part of aging. The retina can also be subject to tears, diabetic retinopathy, and other degenerative diseases — access to the best retina treatment in Buffalo means that our patients can avoid potential vision loss.

Cataract Surgery in Buffalo, NY
WNY Uveitis Treatment

Uveitis Treatment in Orchard Park

Uveitis occurs when the uvea, part of the middle layer of the eye, becomes inflamed. This can be extremely painful and requires immediate uveitis treatment by a specialist. If left untreated, the severity of the inflammation can escalate and potentially result in permanent vision loss. Uveitis may also indicate another underlying issue, making it important to have even mild uveitis looked at and addressed by an expert.

Cornea Specialist in WNY

Orchard Park Cataract Surgery

Cataracts occur when the eye’s natural lens ages, and the proteins within the lens begin to break down and clump together. This leads to cloudiness or blurriness in your eyesight. An Orchard Park cataract surgeon can remove the faulty lens and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). At Buffalo Ophthalmology, we perform cataract surgery using some of the latest and most advanced methods and technology available.

Cornea Specialist in WNY
Glaucoma Treatment in Williamsville, NY

Cornea Disease

The clear front layer of the eye, which helps focus light onto the retina, is called the cornea. Many minor imperfections in the cornea are correctible with glasses or contacts, but more serious issues may not be. Diseases, ulcers, dystrophies, and other painful conditions on the cornea can seriously impact vision, highlighting the need for a cornea specialist to provide expert direction for treatment.
